Psychics and Clairvoyants
Ever wondered what the difference is between psychics and clairvoyants? You’re not alone. Psychic ‘language’ confuses many people so it can be useful to define these terms.
Psychic - Sensitive to influences or forces of a nonphysical or supernatural nature.
Clairvoyant - Having or claiming to have the power of seeing objects or actions beyond the range of natural vision.
As you can see, on the surface, psychics and clairvoyants are basically the same in that they both sense things that other people can’t. So you don’t need to be overly concerned about whether you should consult a psychic or a clairvoyant as they are both working in the same way.
However the word ‘clairvoyant’ or ‘clairvoyance’ does have a more in-depth meaning than the one offered by a dictionary. In fact there are 2 other ‘clair’ words that relate to psychic perception.
Clairvoyance = Psychic Seeing
The word clairvoyance comes from the French and literally means clear seeing or clear sight. A psychic claiming to use clairvoyance ‘sees’ situations, events, objects and people as a vision in their mind’s eye. This is one of the most common types of extra sensory perception (ESP). Many clairvoyants describe it as watching a film reel in their mind.
Clairaudience = Psychic Hearing
Clairaudience translates as clear hearing and describes the ability to hear psychic information. A clairaudient psychic may hear voices, words or music that will have some meaning for their client. Mediums communicating with those who have passed over often have a highly developed clairaudient ability.
Clairsentience = Psychic sensing/feeling
Clairsentience means clear knowing or clear thinking and describes psychic information that is received by simply just knowing or feeling it. Some would liken it to the often-used term ‘gut instinct’. Clairsentients quickly pick up on the thoughts, feelings and emotions of their client.
How psychics and clairvoyants work
Some psychics use tarot cards, runes, numerology charts or crystals to help tune into their clients. These provide a focus for the psychic reader but most then receive their information via clairvoyance, clairaudience or clairsentience. Other psychics do no use any tools to focus relying only on their ‘clair’ abilities.
The most important thing to know when going for a psychic reading is that many psychics and clairvoyants are not mediums, although many mediums do work with clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience to consult with those who have passed away.
If you’re hoping to make contact with a deceased relative you need to be sure that you consult a true medium. A psychic or clairvoyant that does not use the word medium in their profile will not be able to help you make contact with a deceased loved one.
